Wishlist: Jason Wu for Target!

You guys- I am so excited about Jason Wu for Target!  But I’m sure you already knew that from my multiple tweets about it and frantic pinning! :D  I planned to do a different post today, but I’d say this takes precedence- am I right?!

I wanted to share my favorite looks and pieces from the collection.  I don’t think I’ll be able to make it to a Target on the release date (Feb. 5th), but I will certainly be glued to my computer waiting for the pieces to go live online! *Fingers crossed that there isn’t a repeat of the whole Missoni for Target situation!*  I’ve also put myself on a shopping ban until then- gotta set some money aside for these lovely pieces!

This was one of the first looks released from the collection and I immediately fell in love.  One of my fashion resolutions for this year was to invest in more classic pieces that I’ll love forever and forever.  I certainly think this dress fits the bill and at $40 it’s not even too much of an investment!

An absolutely adorable cat print scarf!  I love the classic color combination of red, black and white too.

I want this pleated skirt like WHOA!  Ever since I saw Courtney sporting a similar one on her blog, it’s been on my wishlist and maybe now I can finally check it off!

Now I have a major dilemma- should I get the pleated skirt in black or navy floral (or both, dun dun dun!)?  This might be my favorite look, styling wise.  The different floral patterns on the skirt and top work so well together (in fact, I thought it was one piece at first glance!) and the model just looks so cool.  I read somewhere that Mr. Wu described this collection as downtown chic, a style I would love to achieve!

Be still my beating heart!  This. purse. is. so. lovely.  I think it would add instant chic to any outfit and doesn’t it look so much more expensive than $50?!

I adore this trench coat.  I think the white piping is a really pretty detail and after purchasing my first trench coat last spring, I would say it’s time to add another to the collection!

Tell me: What do you think of the collection?  Which piece or look is your fave?

  • I can’t wait for this to launch, although I am a little scared to get run over by all the crazy ladies at Target! But boy, this collection IS to die for!

  • The collection is so lolita I love it!

  • I posted on this over on the Facebook page yesterday and am also so excited for the collection’s release…and really hoping it won’t be another Missoni debacle!

  • Gahh I’m so excited as well! It’s going to be an amazing collection. Target already offers such cute clothes, and I love all the collaborations they do with designers. :) x

oh gosh, obsessing over that first dress. want it!!

  • I’m loving this collection so much more than Missoni. it just seems so much more versatile and that we would all be able to put our own spin on the pieces so as not to look the same. Looking forward to checking them out at Target! – Katy

    • I totally agree Katy! I thought I liked the Missoni collection, but this I LOVE! :)

  • I’m excited for this line too. I sure hope I dont have to go to blows with anyone for these cute dresses :)

    • Haha, they better watch out! I’m sure you would totally take them if it came down to it! ;)

  • I LOVE this collection so much, if I bought everything I wanted it would be $500…ahah :p

    • Same here! I’m better sure I’m going to have to narrow it down to 2-3 pieces…gah, it’s going to be so hard!

  • Such a wonderful collection indeed! I’m loving the first look :)

  • Yes to the trench!!! I really want to get that trench. I also like the striped dress. That cat scarf is too adorable for words.

  • I am soo excited for this launch! I can’t wait! I just hope I’m lucky enough to snag something from the new collection (I wasn’t so lucky during all the Missoni madness).

    Thanks for sharing!

    • I hope you’re lucky this time around too! I almost didn’t get anything from the Missoni collection because the website was down and I couldn’t make it to the store, but luckily I had an awesome blogger friend who scored one of the scarves for me :)

  • I love all your picks – especially the shape of the pleated skirt. So cute!

  • Love the first dress! Great price for a future classic. :) That bag caught my eye as well. :)

  • I really love the collection – that first dress is a must on my list (or maybe every bloggers list there is?) and the cat print is so cute. I love it on the tote, but the totes seem oddly overpriced in the otherwise reasonable collection.

  • I think I’m really going to like this collection. That could be a problem for my bank account, haha.

  • I’m looking forward to check out this collection!

  • I am SO excited. I’m thinking of going to the Harlem Target before the doors open that day…I can’t handle another Missoni incident.

  • I am also very excited! That scarf sends shivers up my spine it’s so gorgeous. I think that might be abnormal. No wonder I have a style blog.

So, the release is on a Sunday? That’s kind of different. It’ll be interesting to see how it all pans out. I bet it’ll be more toned down than Missoni, mostly because there is less of a variety of items.

  • I know, I’ve been waiting for this day to come and its so soon!! So excited :D

  • Wow, this collection is so chic. I adore the dresses, the black coat, and that totally adorable scarf.

hope you had a great new year my dear.

  • I love the trench!

Thanks for your latest comment and continued support of G&G!

  • I love the cat print scarf! I really don’t understand why so many people complained about this collection on Target’s Facebook page. The clothes are classic and ladylike with a fun, quirky touch that I really like.
