When I saw this look in the April issue of Glamour, I immediately knew it was a outfit I wanted to try to recreate.  For me, Sienna Miller is sporting a perfect summery look in this picture.  It’s light and easygoing and effortlessly stylish.  Also, in the summer months when it’s so ridiculously hot and muggy here in NYC, there’s something about white that just feels like a breath of fresh air.  I’m definitely loving the accents of red in this outfit, as well the idea of wearing perforated white oxfords (with star cutouts!) as an alternative to sandals or flats.

Spring Scents

Spring 2012 Perfume Collage

When the weather is warmer, I like to switch up my perfume and opt for a lighter, fresher scent. Below are some new spring perfumes that sound like they smell heavenly based on the descriptions.  I think I’m going to need to take a trip to my local Sephora soon to test these out! :)  And aren’t the bottles so pretty too?!

1. Especially Escada– notes of pear and ambrette seeds.

2. Gucci Flora: Gorgeous Gardenia– notes of gardenia petals, patchouli, and brown sugar.

3. Valentino Valentina– notes of bergamot, jasmine, orange blossom, tuberose, cedar, and truffle.

4. L’Eau de Chloé– distilled rose water and notes of grapefruit, peach, violet, rose petals, cedarwood, amber, and patchouli.

5. Very Irrésistible Givenchy: Electric Rose– notes of blueberry, lemon zest, anise rose, green violet, cedar, and musk.

Tell me: Have you tried any of these? If so, which is your favorite?

Get Me That Maxi!

Purple Forever 21 Maxi Dress 1

Dress and Cardigan*Forever 21 // Bag*Lulu’s // Flats*Steve Madden

So first of all, you can tell that these pictures are old because there’s the old Christmas wreath again and I don’t have my bangs yet!  But I had to share this outfit because I seriously love this purple maxi dress from Forever 21.  I only paid $15.50 for it, which I think is a steal considering how often I wear this dress!  I love it because the color is great and it’s easy to just throw it on and head out the door.  The chiffon-like material means it can be a bit dressier than a regular jersey fabric, I think, and I even got complimented by my boss when I wore it to work the other day!  I don’t normally like to or want to by the same clothing item in different colors, but now I’m kicking myself for not getting this dress in another color because it’s just that great! I love to wear this dress on a beautiful sunny day, as I enjoy the feeling of it blowing around my legs :)

(All pictures above taken by Alex– thanks lady!)

The sudden return to chilly weather here in NYC reminded me of when I met Alex at Brooklyn Bridge Park a few weeks ago.  I had never been before, so I had absolutely no idea how stunning the views are!  You can see several of the bridges connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn and I think we were even able to spot the Empire State Building in the distance.  As beautiful as it was that night, I was also freezing my behind off!  The whole time we were taking pictures, Alex kept laughing at me- apparently she’s immune to the cold! ;)

After snapping our pictures, we sat down for a quick spell to eat some donut holes that I’d bought.  By that point in the evening, the park was pretty empty, so we were able to snack on our donuts and look out over the water in peace :)  I definitely want to return to Brooklyn Bridge Park during the daytime, especially since there’s a merry go-round there too.  I told Alex that it will have to wait until it warms up though!
