Get the Look: Beach Day

Let's Go to the Beach Collage

1. Sunglasses // 2. Sandals // 3. Beach Towel // 4. Nail Polish // 5. Bathing Suit

During Memorial Day weekend, some friends and I ventured out to Long Beach for the day and it was glorious!  It was so nice to get out of the muggy city, even if it was only for a day.  I love spending time on the beach, but don’t go nearly as often as I’d like to.  I think I’m going to make it a goal to go at least once a month this summer- so that means May is taken care of! :)

Tell me: Are you planning to go to the beach this summer?

P.S. One more day to join the Correspondence Club in time for June- just shoot me an email!  We’ll be switching things up a bit this upcoming month and I’ll be sending out more details to members on Friday.

In the month of May the Correspondence Club exploded!  Thanks to the sweet Fab allowing me to guest post on her blog, we doubled in size and we are now at 28 members!  I am absolutely thrilled at how the club has grown and I only want it to keep getting bigger!  That being said, if you have any suggestions on how you think the club could be improved, please shoot me an email- I would love to hear your ideas!

Also, a couple of little things: I’ve created a tab in my navigation menu at the top of the page just for the Correspondence Club.  That way you can easily see all of the related posts at once!  I’ve also created a little button for the club which you can grab below.  If you’d like, you can put it in the sidebar on your blog and help spread the word! :)

Mint Green + Polka Dots

Mint Green & Polka Dots 1

Pink Jacket*H&M // Sweater*J.Crew (from Alex) // Dress (unknown) // Bag*Lulu’s // Flats*Payless

This is what I wore to attend the Madewell shopping event a couple of weeks ago with Alex.  Funny story about the origins of this dress.  One day last fall I was wandering around my neighborhood (the East Village) with a friend.  We were just exploring and checking out all the cool vintage and clothing shops that are in the area.  On the side of the street in an empty lot, there was a makeshift market set up.  We decided to go check it out and tucked away in one of the stalls I found this adorable little dress for $10!  So now I think of this dress as the one I bought randomly on the side on the street one day, but it was so cute and so my style- I couldn’t resist!

Since I can’t afford a diamond ring like these ones from 77 Diamonds, I have to figure out another way to put a little sparkle on my finger!  Enter this amazing ring from InPink (the big green and gold one above).  I have no idea what type of stone that is, but the way it is cut catches the light so prettily that I have a hard time not looking at it when it’s on my finger :)

I am so blown away by the pictures that Alex was able to take with her wide-angle lens!  I love the way she captured the surroundings in one of my favorite areas of New York City.

(all pictures of me and NYC taken by Alex- thanks lady!)

Send Something Good: The Recap!

Send Something Good Recap 1

I’m so excited to able to share with you guys pictures from the package swap I participated in, Send Something Good!  As I mentioned before, we were each assigned a partner for the package swap.  We then had the next couple of weeks to get to know them through their blog and to put together a package for them.  The real kicker though was that it was a secret!  We weren’t supposed to reveal who we were to our partner so that they would be totally surprised when they got their package :)

My partner was Bethani of Cheers, Bethani and when I read her About page on her blog I discovered that we liked a lot of the same things!  I had a great time shopping for her and putting together her package. Take a look below!

All the little goodies wrapped up and ready to go

I painted this plain white cardboard box with stripes so it would look prettier

The person who sent my package was the lovely Teaka of Life Like Honey.  First of all, I loved that her package was covered in a bunch of Canadian stamps- it was so cool!  Inside the package I found that she had sent me several thoughtful gifts, including chocolate, magazines you could only get in Canada, and a beautiful scarf (that I’ve gotten so many compliments on!).  Thank you again Teaka! :D

It was so much fun to participate in Send Something Good!  I really enjoyed putting together my package for my secret partner and getting to know her through her blog.  It made me so happy to hear that Bethani loved the package I sent, as I loved the package I received from Teaka!  Thank you again to Gentri Lee, Kaitlyn and Kristy for putting together this amazing project- I’m already itching for the next round! :)
