As we finish up the sixth month of the Correspondence Club, we are still going strong! I thought it was time to take a step back and evaluate the Correspondence Club, so I asked the members to take a short survey and send me some suggestions on how we can improve. I’m super excited to introduce some changes for August that I hope will help things run a bit smoother and still keep it interesting! If you’re already a member, look out for a more detailed email from me in the next couple of days.  If you’re not already a member but want to join, you still have time!

I loved reading Anastasia’s post about her first month of participating in the CClub! Suki did a fantastic post about what she sent to her partner this month as well! If you decide to blog about the Correspondence Club too, please do send me the link because I want to share your posts! :)

Do you want to join the Correspondence Club for August?  We’d love to have you!  If you would like to participate in August, please send me your information by midnight tonight (July 31st at 11:59pm EST).

Blogger Social Club

Blogger Social Club 1

Forever 21* Necklace, Tee, Skirt // Target* Wedges // Lulu’s* Purse

About once a month, HopeJamillahKim, Kristine, LuzAlex and I try to get together for what Alex has nicknamed the “Blogger Social Club.” Basically, it’s a chance for us to get together (usually in a happy hour setting) and hang out/catch up on each other’s lives. When I realized that my two-year blogiversary was quickly approaching, I called a meeting of the Blogger Social Club so we could have a little celebration! :)

Even though it was hot and sticky that day, Hope, Alex, and I arrived a little early so that we could take outfit pictures in Tompkins Square Park, right across the street from Yuca Bar.  As you can see above, we can get a little silly when we’re in front of the camera :) Also, although I don’t often wear my hair up, it was really too hot that day not to, so I decided to try out this quick and easy braided hairstyle.

(all photos of me above taken by Alex– thanks lady!)

Did you guys have a good weekend? Did anyone watch the Olympics Opening Ceremony on Friday? I found the whole thing pretty bizarre, but still interesting at points! I’m a huge Olympics nut, so once I figured out that I can live stream events on my computer (which is perfect, since I don’t own a TV), I’ve pretty much been watching the Olympics coverage nonstop. I also love that they have replays available too, so that I can catch up on events that happened in the middle of the night (EST).  I did tear myself away from the Olympics for a few hours on Saturday to meet up with Alex and Kim in the East Village.  It was Kim’s blogiversay on Friday, so we celebrated with brunch and a little bit of thrifting :)

Tomorrow’s the end of month which means it’s time for the Correspondence Club round-up! Check back tomorrow to see what was sent/received and if you’d like to join the Correspondence Club for August, you still have until tomorrow to send me your information!

The Road to London: Olympics 2012

The Road to London Olympics 2012

Are you guys as excited about the Olympics as I am?! I am a huge Olympics fan and I’m so looking forward to watching the Opening Ceremony on TV tonight. My friend is having a little Olympics kick-off gathering at her place, so I’ll be heading there later today.  I love the spirit of the games- the idea of bringing countries from all over the world together for a shared love of sports.

Some of my family is currently in London (jealous!) although they don’t have tickets to any events. Still, I imagine that London is all abuzz with excitement about the Olympics and I wish I could be there to experience it!

Tell me: Will you be watching the Olympics? If so, what are you favorite sports to watch?

It’s Paper, Dear

When I found out about the lovely etsy shop, Darling Dear, I knew I had to share it with you! The shop owner Zie had the absolutely brilliant idea to put together a monthly subscription box for paper goods. I mean, this is like a stationery lover’s dream come true! For the reasonable price of $20/month, you can sign up to receive a surprise box of paper goodies or you can can get a bit of a discount by choosing the 3-month option for $54. In addition, my fellow blogger friend Kaitlyn (who has her own amazing stationery shop on Etsy) has contributed some of her products to the subscription boxes.  If that doesn’t convince you of how awesome these boxes are, you can see some of the items received in the picture above or take a look at the general components of the boxes below!

This subscription service would be perfect for all my Correspondence Club members out there! Speaking of which, if you’d like to participate in the Correspondence Club for August, just send me your information anytime between now and July 31st!
