On Nnenna’s Nails #18: Fourth of July

Blue*Joe Fresh Navy Marine // Glitter*Julep America the Beautiful

Blue*NYC Skin Tight Denim Creme // Red*Sally Hansen Cherry Red // White*NYC French White

You know I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to do a themed manicure for the 4th of July! I actually did the bottom manicure first. I thought of doing stripes on each individual nail, but didn’t have a small enough brush, so I decided that each nail would count as a stripe. The white is a bit tricky to apply, just because it comes out so streaky/chalky, but I think I did okay here. The stars that you can see on my thumb are actually stickers that I put on top of the blue nail polish, then I applied a top coat over the whole thing.

Then, the very next day, I was unhappy with how my nails looked (the polish was a bit clumpy and dried with air bubbles), so I took it all off and did the top manicure! I also received my July Julep Maven box yesterday, so I really really wanted to use that glitter polish for my Fourth of July manicure. I did a base coat of navy with the Joe Fresh nail polish, then painted one coat of the glitter polish from Julep. Definitely a simpler manicure and I feel better that my nails look so much neater!

Happy 4th of July to my American readers!
I’ll be taking tomorrow off, so see you back here on Thursday! :)

These are awesome! I’m so jealous, I would end up with a hand covered in glitter if I tried this.

I absolutely despise white polish. I always think it looks messy, but your nails looks perfect here! Well done!

Haha, it was mostly by accident- I didn’t like my first one so I did another one! I’m glad it’s not just me who finds white nail polish so difficult. Ooo yes, thanks for letting me know- I’ll enter right now :) Hope you had a great 4th of July Santina!
