Julep Maven Review: Classic with a Twist

Recently, Julep sent me a Classic with a Twist box and I was so excited to test out these colors when they arrived! To me, these are the perfect fall/winter colors- dark and rich.

Olivia is a lovely dark brown nail polish. I have to admit, I was skeptical about brown nail polish at first (I don’t generally like to wear brown because I feel like it blends too much into my skin color), but I totally changed my mind once I put this on. It looks like a delicious dark chocolate- how can I not love a color that reminds me of chocolate?! It was also wonderful to apply and very opaque- I think I could have gotten away with one coat, but I decided to do two coats just to be consistent.

Ahhh, Catherine. The perfect red nail polish. I mean, it’s just like bam! I don’t know about you, but I love a classic red nail polish- it can’t be too dark, or too light, or too orange, and that can be pretty tough to find. I feel that this polish hits the nail on the head and with two coats I had the perfect pop of color on my nails. I think this will definitely become my go-to red polish!

If you like purple, I think you’ll definitely be a fan of Gayle. I personally prefer a darker purple to lighter ones, so this color is right up my alley. The color is very rich and deep, but not so dark that you’re not sure if it’s purple or black.  After testing all three, this is the color I decided to stick with for now! I hadn’t sported a purple manicure in a while and I do love to wear darker colors at this time of year.

You guys already know that I really like the Julep formula- it’s a great consistent, goes on smoothly, and dries pretty fast.  The Classic with a Twist box is what I usually order each month because the colors are so wearable- classic, but never boring. If you like what you see, Julep has been kind enough to offer my readers 20% off on purchases of $20 or more- just go to their site and use the code VIP20 to get your discount!

Tell me: Would you wear any of these colors?

Disclaimer: This nail polish was provided for me to review by Julep; however, I only recommend products and services that I like and believe that my readers will like as well. All thoughts and opinions in this post are entirely my own.

the julep polishes are nice and thick, which I like a lot – not a fan of the skinny bottles though – I topple them!

I think the red is my favorite of this set.

Yeah, I think the Julep formula is very good. I happen to like the skinny bottles- they save space and look really cute all lined up next to each other :)
