Coral Lady 2

Sometimes I remember that on the weekends I can get away with wearing more casual outfits like this one. While I feel like this is a teeny bit too relaxed for me to wear to work, it was perfect for a send-off brunch at Punch for Miss Lindsay a few weekends ago.

It was a rainy Saturday afternoon, so Alex and I took cover under some scaffolding (there’s always scaffolding somewhere in NYC- buildings are constantly being constructed or renovated). Wearing this coral cardigan is like wearing a blanket- it’s just so cozy! Also, even though these earrings are bigger than what I normally wear, I couldn’t resist matching them to my cardigan.

One more thing- I am totally loving this soft gray tee that I picked up at Forever 21 a few months ago! I don’t know why I didn’t own a gray tee before, but I’m quickly realizing it works with so many different outfits. I don’t know how long this Forever 21 one will last, but for now I’m happy with my purchase. I also need to stock up on some basic black and white tees and I’m thinking of trying Everlane based on some recommendations from friends.

Tell me: Where do you buy your basic tees?

That cardi does look super cozy!
I usually get my basic tees at the Gap when I can get a good sale. and then I wear them forever and ever until they fall to bits.

The Gap is so good for basics. I haven’t been in ages but I should go soon!

Cute cute! Love these colors together. I like Michael Stars and American Apparel for basic tees that have shape and I like Hanes V-necks for classic white shapeless tee.

Coral and purple are such a beautiful combination! It’s not often I see many people wearing them at the same time!

Thank you! The color combination kind of happened by accident, but I decided to just go with it :)

I like the coral/plum combination, I don’t think I’ve done that before. Something to squirrel away for later…

I don’t actually have too many basic tees, not for wanting them…I’ve picked up a few at Goodwill, but that can be slow going. I also have some from Target, but I’m not 100% happy with the fit and their sizes seem kind of wonky.

Thanks Mia! I have a couple from Forever 21 that were great at first, but the fit went wonky after washing. I just bought some from Everlane based on some recommendations from people, so I’ll have to see how they hold up over time!
