Le Week-end // 03.22.13

It’s been a weird couple of weeks for me recently. I was in a kind of rut with life and with the blog, hence the lack of posts here. However, after hanging with friends over the weekend and a brainstorm session with Alex on Tuesday, I’m feeling reenergized (at least as far as the blog goes). I want to keep trying new things, so here’s the first post of something that may turn into a weekly series. I’m always curious to read more about the day-to-day lives of my favorite bloggers (is that just me?), so I thought it could be fun for me to share a little bit about my week.

// On St. Patty’s day I went over to my friend’s apartment in Brooklyn for a little get-together. The cupcakes she made were simply adorable- there were gold and green glitter shamrocks on top!

// I had to use up one of my rollover vacation days for work before it expired at the end of the month, so I took this past Monday off. I didn’t do anything exciting, but I did take care of some much-needed housekeeping around the apartment.  The only downside of having Monday off is that I was extra grumpy on Tuesday!

// On Tuesday Alex came over to my place to hang out. Of course there was lots of blogger talk and she helped me sort out some new ideas for the Correspondence Club, as well as brainstorm ideas for my blog. She’s also brought over the Grace Coddington memoir for me to borrow- I can’t wait to dive in!

// Speaking of the Correspondence Club, I’m making some major changes to the format starting next month. If you were already a member, you should have received an email from me on Tuesday explaining the new format. If you want more information or want to join for the first time, feel free to send me an email!

// Did you guys see this video on Mashable about social media as people? Totally funny and accurate!

// I started watching Sex and the City for the first time a couple of weekends ago (I’m so late to the game, I know!) and now there are so many little pop culture references I understand. I’m moving through it pretty quickly and I’m on the last season now- my goal is to finish this weekend!

// When will the weather get it together and when will it actually turn into spring? I cannot handle any more snow flurries or wintry mixes. I took the picture above at the Union Square Farmer’s Market last spring- flowers might be just what I need right now to at least pretend it’s spring.

P.S. If you’re wondering why “weekend” is spelled “week-end,” it’s the French spelling! When I took French class in college, I was tickled to learn that they say “weekend” as well, but with a French accent of course!

When waiting for one season to end and the next to begin, I think we all feel a little restless and a in a bit of a rut. hope you are out of yours!

can’t believe you’ve never watched SATC – but to be fair, I watched the syndicated (edited) episodes and decided to buy the dvd box set last year to see them as they were intended, but still haven’t gotten around to re-watching the series.

Thanks Lydia for the encouraging words- I’m starting to feel better about it. I didn’t realized there were two different versions of SATC- I just finished the series this weekend though!

Well, anything on HBO is too racy and vulgar for a major network, plus they have to cut stuff to make room for the commercials.

        Did you enjoy the end??
My advice: NEVER WATCH THE MOVIES. Pretend they do not exist.

Ahh, that’s true. I was a little surprised at all the nudity at first, but then I remembered that it aired on HBO where they can get away with some of that.

  6. Ah yes! I love this new series. I agree, it’s always so fun to get glimpses into bloggers’ daily lives.

I’m glad you’re loving SATC! I was a little late to the game, too, and completely flew through the series once I got the DVDs. Now my new guilty pleasure is The Carrie Diaries. And I cannot wait for spring, either! I feel like it’s taking so long to get here this year.

Hope you had a great weekend! :)

Thanks Jackie! I love reading the weekend updates that you do on Mondays :)
I started watching the Carrie Diaries too- Anna Sophia Robb is really adorable and likeable as the young Carrie.

Hope you had a lovely weekend as well!
