How do you guys make the best of a less-than-ideal situation? Basically, I’ve signed up for a commitment and I can’t get out of it. It’s not at all a bad situation, which is why I feel silly complaining about it, but I have to be honest and say that I’m not thrilled about it. Usually when something is bothering me, I’ll ignore it until I can’t anymore, which isn’t really the best strategy. Right now, I have about two months to get used to the idea, so I’m trying to find the positive side. You guys are always so helpful and I’d love to get your advice on what you’d do in this situation!

Ha. Totally been there. The only thing you can really change is your attitude. and even if you can’t convince yourself that you are enjoying it, you can at least convince others. Don’t be negative. I know, groundbreaking advice, right?

Maybe you can focus on the ways the new circumstance will take you out of your comfort zone and enjoy a little soul-searching, or find things you DO like about the situation and hyper focus on those things. Good luck!

Ummm what’s happening in two months… the Jazz Age Lawn Party? But that would probably be fun, so it can’t be that… karaoke? It’s totally karaoke, isn’t it?

Yeah I’m blind guessing. I don’t know. Maybe something good could happen, like the time I ate roe for the first time in about six years and mysteriously loved it again. After hating it since I got back from Japan. Jury’s still out on calamari though. I’m not over not liking that any more yet.
