Sweet Stationery- Graduation Day

I’m in disbelief- I can’t believe it’s been two years since I graduated from college! Graduation season is definitely upon us- my Facebook feed is full of friends grinning from ear-to-ear in their caps and gowns. If you know someone who’s graduating soon, here are a few stationery ideas to accompany your gift. Or if you’re running short on time, just slip a little cash inside one of these cards- trust me, they will appreciate it!

Tell me: Which is your favorite?

Prim and Proper

My style definitely varies- one day I’ll be wearing all-black clothing with my combat boots and the next day I’ll put on a ladylike dress like this one. I fought hard for this Jason Wu for Target dress when it came out nearly a year ago. First I had it in my cart and purchased it, then I received an email saying that my order had been cancelled because it was out of stock. After that I stalked online forums and Facebook until I found someone who had the dress in my size and was willing to sell it to me for the regular retail price. Despite all of that hullabaloo, I think this is the first time the dress has made it to the blog (though I’ve definitely worn it plenty of times since it finally arrived at my doorstep)!

Really, my favorite thing to thrown on is a dress like this one. It’s simple in shape and color, but has enough interesting details with the stripes on the bottom and the pleating on the bodice. This dress makes me feel very prim and proper- it’s the kind of outfit I’d wear to visit with older relatives or to an occasion like graduation. In this particular case though, I just wore it to work on a regular old Friday. You can’t tell from the pictures, but this dress has pockets too and dresses with pockets are just the best.

On cool spring days I love to pull out my maxi skirts and dresses. It’s perfect because I can keep my legs covered and warmish without enclosing them in pants. By the time spring/summer rolls around I’m tired of wearing pants all winter long and I just want my legs to be free!

I had to look back in my archive to figure out where I bought this skirt (see how useful it is to have a blog? haha). Turns out I thrifted it a couple years ago and I’m betting I paid $10 or less because I don’t like to spend more than that on a single item at a thrift store. This skirt has got to be one of my favorite thrift finds because it’s 100% silk and I can only imagine how expensive that would be if I bought it new today!

What do you guys have planned this weekend? I’m hoping to finally see Gatsby tonight and my roomie and I might also go on a little excursion to Ikea!

First of all, I have to thank you guys for all of your wonderful feedback on the survey I posted last week! To be honest, I was a little afraid to post it because it’s hard to admit when you’re struggling and because I thought maybe no one would bother to fill it out! However, I got a lot of helpful responses and comments, so thank you again. I’m still working out the kinks, but for now I’m going to try and focus a little more on the content you guys enjoy the most. As far as posting schedule, I’m still going to aim for 3-5 posts a week, but I’m probably not going to have a rigid calendar (this is hard- the control freak in me likes to have a plan and stick to it!). Most importantly, I’m going to post when the inspiration is flowing and not worry about it on the days when it’s not.

A few people mentioned that they like when I show little tidbits of my life so I thought I would share a few of my favorite Instagrams from the last couple months. I think Instagram is perfect for sharing bits and pieces of daily life and that’s where I usually post little snapshots that never make it to the blog. If you’d like to follow along, you can find me here!
