Prim and Proper

My style definitely varies- one day I’ll be wearing all-black clothing with my combat boots and the next day I’ll put on a ladylike dress like this one. I fought hard for this Jason Wu for Target dress when it came out nearly a year ago. First I had it in my cart and purchased it, then I received an email saying that my order had been cancelled because it was out of stock. After that I stalked online forums and Facebook until I found someone who had the dress in my size and was willing to sell it to me for the regular retail price. Despite all of that hullabaloo, I think this is the first time the dress has made it to the blog (though I’ve definitely worn it plenty of times since it finally arrived at my doorstep)!

Really, my favorite thing to thrown on is a dress like this one. It’s simple in shape and color, but has enough interesting details with the stripes on the bottom and the pleating on the bodice. This dress makes me feel very prim and proper- it’s the kind of outfit I’d wear to visit with older relatives or to an occasion like graduation. In this particular case though, I just wore it to work on a regular old Friday. You can’t tell from the pictures, but this dress has pockets too and dresses with pockets are just the best.

Outfit Details: Dress- Jason Wu for Target // Cardigan- J.Crew (via Alex) // Purse- Ruche // Shoes- Lucky Brand (via TJ Maxx) // Lips- Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids On Fire Red (all photos above taken by my roomie!)

I hate the craziness that always seems to go along with the target diffusion lines. (especially people buying things up just to list them on ebay) But I’m glad to hear you did get your dress!

Yes, I’m not a fan of those who just buy them to list on eBay. I do like many of the diffusion lines, but sadly the craziness seems to come with the territory!
