Summer Times Square

This might be my summer uniform this year- simple tee + fun skirt + sandals. On days like this one when the humidity is like 85%, I can’t be bothered with anything too fussy or heavy. This plaid skirt has become one of my favorite summer pieces. The colors are so fun together and I like the little buttons going all the way down the front.

I found myself back in Times Square a couple of weeks ago for the Kensie Jewelry Holiday 2013 Preview (if you’d like to see some snaps of the jewelry, Heather and Alex wrote great posts!). The jewelry was so pretty and I have my eye on a few pieces that I’d like to own. There was also a wine and chocolate tasting, along with a lovely spread of snacks to munch on.

That day I wore some of the jewelry that I received at the last preview. Honestly, at first I wasn’t sure if I liked the necklace above, but once I put it on with the right outfit, I loved it! I think since the necklace is so bright and flashy on its own, it works perfectly with this solid tee.

Tell me: Do you guys ever experience that-
have something you might not like at first grow on you?

  2. I’m loving this outfit, especially your plaid skirt! It’s so fun how the tassel on your bag matches the tassel on your necklace!

I think that necklace is great, and yes, I’ve totally had things I hated at first become closet staples. Like stripes. I HATED stripes. I know, ridiculous, right?

Love your summer uniform, it’s a good one.

The necklace tops off the outfit quite nicely. Such a summery piece, and it goes so well with everything else. Seeing your photos reminds me that I really need to get to nyc sometime soon and just walk around. What better background than Times Square?!

Times Square does make a pretty background, although I cannot handle the tourists in the area so I only go there sparingly!

Cute outfit! Yes, I’ve had that happen with pieces I saved and hadn’t worn in a while. When I brought them back out I loved them even more!

Please let it not be that hot the next time we need to take photos in Times Square.

I’m kind of disappointed that there’s no photobomb… next time I’m paying someone to stand behind you!

Well, that one Elmo or Cookie Monster photobombed one of your pictures, so that counts, right? :)
