  • READING // The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith (a.k.a. J.K. Rowling). A few of my friends wanted to read it so I jumped on the bandwagon and now we’re all reading it together. So far I’m liking it! I also just got an email from the library that I can now download Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris. I’ve heard that it’s a real hoot, so I’m excited to start that one soon. The last few books I’ve read, I’ve liked and not loved, so I’m hoping these two will be 4 or 5 star- books!
  • LISTENING TO // “Go” by Delilah. I first heard this song on So You Think You Can Dance (more on that below) a few weeks ago and since then I listen to it at least once a day.
  • WATCHING // So You Think You Can Dance. I LOVE THIS SHOW. Each season, I wonder if I’ll get tired of it, but no- I’ll never get tired of super talented people doing amazing choreography to great songs. Every once in a while I’ll get caught in the rabbit hole of watching clips from previous seasons and reminiscing on my favorite past dancers. Seriously, I could watch this stuff for hours. Here are three favorites from this season so far: Amy and Fik-shun- “After Party,” Haley and Curtis- “Go,” Malece and Marko- “In the Embers.” Do you watch SYTYCD?
  • Also, I recently binge-watched the new Netflix series Orange is the New Black when it was released a couple of weeks ago. It’s the story of a woman from NYC who is sent to prison to serve a 15 month-sentence for drug charges. I thought it was funny and that the characters were really interesting. Have you watched any episodes yet?

Tell me: What are you currently reading? Listening to? Watching?

It is very interesting (a it’s a real-life story- it was a memoir before it became a netflix series). I think it’s worth checking out! :)

Cuckoo’s Calling is on my library hold list…good thing there are like 1,100 holds placed on only 15 copies, haha. I just finished Looking for Alaska by John Green, so now I need to read The Fault in Our Stars. I’m also planning on reading some Zadie Smith and Barbara Kingsolver. :) For music, I’m loving Of Monsters and Men lately. I’m on episode three of Orange Is the New Black! I love it so far. :)

I ended up buying it because I didn’t want to wait! My sister also just read Looking for Alaska and I told her to read The Fault in Our Stars. Now I need to read looking for Alaska because you’re recommended it and she said it was one of her favorite books. I can’t say I’ve listened to a lot of Of Monsters and Men, but I’ll check them out on Spotify!

I’ve seen some episodes of SYTYCD and liked the creativity of it but never continued to watch it. I’m actually just finishing up watching BATB on the CW for the second time. I’m obsessed with this show!

I watched one episode of “Orange is the New Black” and the vibe I got was “cheesy” and “trying too hard”.
    Too harsh?

That’s fair- I feel like the first episode focuses a lot on Piper who is rather annoying, but as it goes on it’s more about the ensemble, which is a lot more interesting. I would say watch at least 1 or 2 more episodes and tell me what you think!
