Friday Link Love 05.

maxing and relaxing, in bed, weekend, the trotter girl, friday link love

What a week, eh? Lately the weeks have felt so long and drawn out. Is that just me or is anyone else feeling it too? This weekend, for the first time in months, I have absolutely nothing planned. I am thrilled. I’m sorely tempted to stay curled up in bed all weekend. Here are a few Internet reads that I’ve enjoyed recently:

– In case you haven’t seen Emma Stone killing it in a lip sync battle, here you go.

– I think Byrdie has really great beauty content and editorials and I love this retro 70s shoot featuring Alison Brie.

– Have you switched to the new twitter profile yet? I actually like it and I recently updated my profile picture and cover photo.

– This one is for my book nerds. There have been countless articles about how ebooks are affecting the publishing industry, but many years before ebooks came on the scene, paperbacks transformed the way Americans read.

– I was completely inspired by Victoria’s tips on how to learn a language when you’re an adult. One of my New Year’s resolutions this year (remember those?) was to refresh my language skills, but I’ve made zero progress on that. After reading her post though, I signed up for Duolingo and the Conversation Exchange, so we’ll see what happens!

Tell me: What are you up to this weekend?

I really feel like my second language skills have slipped since I graduated. I’m going to check that post out – I’d love to brush up on things!

It’s true that they really do fade away if you don’t practice. I need to get on that!

Wow! Your Twitter page looks SO good! I haven’t switched over yet. I heard about the change but didn’t even see a preview of what it looked like until I saw yours. Now I want to switch asap!

  3. OMG my co-worker and I were just watching the lip sync battle this morning at work (haha). It is so epic. I love Jimmy Fallon and Emma Stone!

I love how Emma Stone just goes for it! She definitely seems like she’d be a fun person to hang out with.

  4. I’m so glad I’m not alone, I like the new Twitter profile too. I think it gives such an interesting aesthetic. Your profile looks gorg, by the way! I’ve heard about Duolingo but I haven’t tried it myself. My sister has Living Language for learning Spanish and I really want to borrow it. I’ve never been successful in learning another language, but I think language is such a great doorway to understanding other cultures. Keep us posted on how it goes for you! :)

Thank you Casee Marie! I’ll have to look up Living Language. I’m hoping that all the things I’ve learned over the years are just dormant and will resurface if I start practicing again!
