Those Curls

messy curls, short hair curls, ombre hair, loose curls, messy curls, easy curls, tousled hair

When I saw this picture, I had immediate hair envy. I wish I could snap my fingers and make my hair look like this! I love a messy tousled look and one day I will figure out how to do this to my own hair.

I mentioned that I picked up a curling wand in December and it’s been my secret weapon for making it seem like I actually did something with my hair. I remember when I first started curling my hair (not that long ago) it would take me a good hour to do it. Now with some practice, I’ve been able to reduce that time greatly. With my curling wand, it’s even faster- I can quickly curl just the ends of my hair in about 5-10 minutes. Do you have any tried-and-true methods for curling your hair? Or favorite products to use? You guys always give great advice, so I’d love to hear your thoughts below!

oh my goodness. if you ever figure it out let us know! i actually had great waves in my hair but it came by way of putting my hair in a braid and then taking it out just after like 30 minutes and then sleeping on it. it was the most inconvenient process ever and i will probably never get that look again!

If I do, I will! A few times I’ve braided my hair and then slept on it, but sometimes I sleep on the hair weirdly and it comes out all wonky!

I haven’t curled my hair in ages, but every few days I give myself a twist out (twist my damp hair up before bed and undo it in the morning). I love roller sets too when I have the patience.

I bought a roller set a few years back, but I think I only used it once because it took so long to do!

I’m forever in search of those perfect waves! I want ‘hair commercial’ hair but sometimes I wonder if it’s even possible.

  5. Love a good wand, but my go-to is a 1 1/2 inch curling iron, which I use JUST like a wand! I usually break my hair up into sections and can quickly curl pieces and have this look above! Always curl from the root down, but leave the last inch or so off the iron and pull tight so it gets the heat, and only curl for about 7 seconds. I also always use a light hairspray so it doesn’t get hard or gross, and you can easily tousle them and keep them soft! I’ve also found that when I curl and spray, I can sleep in them and wake up with great next day hair!

So envious that you have this figured out- thank you so much for sharing your tips! I have a 1″ curling iron, but perhaps what I need is a bigger size. I’m going to try using my curling iron as a wand soon and see how it turns out :)
