Bite Beauty 5 Night Fix For Lips Review

Like many people, I suffered from dry lips during the winter. I wrote a post about how I was looking for a product to combat dry lips and one of the items I had on my list was the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask. I’d heard people rave about it and I wanted to give it a try, but the $26 price tag made me hesitate.

That’s why I was so excited when I saw the 5 Night Fix for Lips! It contains mini versions of the Agave Lip Mask and their Scrub Stick. The set costs $15 and this way I could test out the lip mask before splurging on the full-sized version. You’re supposed to use the duo in combination- first you exfoliate your lips with the scrub stick and then you apply the lip mask, which is a thick balm. Within five nights, you should have soft and healthy lips.

Oh boy did I need this. During winter my lips were constantly chapped and it was unpleasant. I definitely noticed a difference within a couple days of using this set. Let’s talk about what I did and didn’t like:

PROS

The Agave Lip Mask does work. Once I started using it, it only took a few days for my lips to return to their normal state. It felt so good not to have chapped lips anymore!

They smell good. I believe both products contain honey and they have a pleasant honey aroma.

A little goes a long way. The lip mask is so thick and I only need a small amount to coat my lips. I’ve been using it for nearly a month now and I still feel like I have a lot of product left in my mini tube.

CONS

– The Scrub Stick is too gentle. It’s supposed to be an exfoliant, but I didn’t think it did a great job of getting rid of the dead skin on my lips. I have this $3 lip exfoliator from e.l.f. and I like it a lot better.

The Agave Lip Mask is very thick. This is a good and bad thing. It is really moisturizing, but it does make it a little difficult to get it out of the tube. Now that it’s a little warmer, the ingredients have softened up and it’s no longer as difficult to squeeze it out of the tube.

The Lip Mask is a bit sticky. I don’t love the way it feels on the lips. I usually put it on right before bed so that it can soak in overnight. When I go to bed, my lips feel sticky and there’s still a bit of sticky residue when I wake up the next morning. It’s not uncomfortable or anything like that, I just wish it wasn’t quite so sticky. I’ve combated that problem a bit by putting on a thin layer of Vaseline, then applying the lip mask on top. The Vaseline gives a little more slip, so I feel less like my lips are sticking together constantly.

THE SHORT VERSION

Overall, I’m happy that I purchased this little kit. I got to try out both products for a fraction of the price (and I think the packaging is totally adorable). The Agave Lip Mask really did rescue my lips and aside from a couple little issues, I think it’s great. The Scrub Stick doesn’t do too much for me, so I probably wouldn’t purchase that again. I would, however, buy the full-size version of the Agave Lip Mask.

Have you tried either of these products?

I love when brands come out with trial kits like this. Bummer the scrub didn’t work :( The agave lip mask sounds like something I need to give a try! Personally, I like to slather on nuxe’s reve de miel before bed and wake up with hydrated lips :)

Nuxe’s Reve de Miel is another product that I’ve heard people rave about! Should I give it a try? What’s the texture like?

Totally just saw this comment… And the answer is yes you should try it! It’s texture is hard to describe. It’s thick like Vaseline but it isn’t sticky.

My lips have been horrible all winter, and still are, even though I use vaseline every night! Nothing is more unattractive than lipstick on dried, flaking lips. Glad to hear the mask worked – I would love to try it!

Vaseline has been my go-to since I was a kid, but even Vaseline couldn’t save my lips this past winter! They were in such bad shape that I needed something to bring them back to normal.

  4. I really want to try the agave lip mask! I’ve heard good things about it! I don’t mind thick lip balm, especially if it works really well, but it kind of sucks that it’s sticky.

I hadn’t really heard people talk about it feeling sticky, so maybe I’m just hypersensitive or something! Let me know what you think if you do give it a try :)
