Sometime in the last few years, I became a beauty person. I still don’t wear a ton of makeup, but that doesn’t stop me from watching hours on end of beauty videos. My favorite beauty products are definitely nail polish and lipstick (I’ve come to the conclusion that you can never have too many of either). I keep a list of items I’d like to try at some point and these four picks are at the top of my list.
L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush- Sometimes I just want to go into full-on glitter mode. This color is so sparkly and pretty. I think it would be fun to use it for a holiday party look.
Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain- I’d heard a few people rave about this lip stain, so a few months ago I went and swatched this in the store. At first, I was not a fan, so I left it behind. I went back to Sephora a few weeks ago and gave it another try and my opinion of it did a complete 180. The problem was that I didn’t let it dry the first time. It starts out rather glossy, but then dries down to a lovely matte red color. Every time I see Lily Pebbles wear it, I’m like “Yep, I need this lip color in my life.” I left it behind again, but that’s only because I splurged on the next item on this list. I plan to get this eventually so I can test it out properly!
NARS Audacious Lipstick- I mentioned in my last beauty post that I picked up this lipstick in the color Charlotte. I’m still in love with it. So in love, in fact, that I want all of the other colors. Ok, maybe not all of them, but a lot of them. At $32 a pop, they’re not exactly cheap, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I picked up at least one more. I’m not sure which color yet though- I guess I’ll have to back to Sephora and swatch them all (it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it – wink wink). If I get my act together, I may pop up a Beauty Fave/review type post on this lipstick.
Urban Decay Naked Palette- I don’t own any of the Naked palettes, even though I know these are holy grail products in the beauty community. One of the first beauty products I ever bought for myself was a Sephora Collection eyeshadow palette. I haven’t used most of the colors in that palette, but I still look at that set with a certain fondness. These days I don’t usually bother with eyeshadow, but the other day I was getting glammed up for my birthday and I did the whole shebang on my eyes- eyeshadow, liner and mascara (I almost went for falsies but I was operating on a time crunch). It was really fun to play with my makeup and now I’d like to upgrade to a palette of pretty eyeshadows in colors I’d actually wear. Now the question is, which Naked Palette? Or should I go for the Lorac Pro Palette, which I’ve also seen people rave about?
Tell me: Have you tried any of these products?
01. Soap and Glory Hand Food- I’ve been out of hand cream for about a month, but I was using a sample in the meantime. Since I made a couple trips to Sephora while my sister was here, I figured I better restock this favorite of mine.
02. NARS Audacious Lipstick in Charlotte- I was on the hunt for some new fall lip colors and I swatched several of them when I was in the store. Originally I was drawn to the Bite Beauty Matte Cream Lip Crayon in Brandy. I liked it when I swatched it on the back of my hand, but not so much when I actually put it on my lips. I did fall in love with this new NARS lipstick though. The color is absolutely perfect for fall and the formula is deliciously creamy. Also, the packaging is super sleek and I love the magnetic closure. I really hesitated about paying $32 for a lipstick (this is the most expensive one I’ve bought so far!), but in the end I decided to put back a couple of the other things I was going to get and treat myself to this lipstick instead. I haven’t worn it out yet, so I’ll report back when I know how it wears throughout the day.
03. Elizabeth and James Nirvana White Rollerball- I haven’t bought a perfume in ages. I had so many samples stocked up, so I was just going through those. Now I’ve used up all the samples I actually like, so I wanted to get a new scent without splurging on a full bottle. I’ve been eyeing this perfume for a few months now and every time I went into Sephora I would smell both the white and the black version. I wasn’t sure which one I liked better, but my sister preferred the white version on me. I busted it out earlier this week and every time I caught a whiff of the scent, I was quite pleased. I like the rollerball aspect too- it makes it easy to tote around if I want to reapply it later in the day.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again- I definitely prefer matte lips on myself. I like a glossy lip on other people and think that it can be a really fun look, but I’ve found that matte lips just suit me better. That doesn’t stop me from picking up the occasional glossy lip product though. The other day I grabbed one of the newish Revlon Moisture Stains because I was curious and had heard good things. When I first tried it on, I wasn’t really sure about the color or the gloss. After wearing it for a bit, I decided I do like it a lot more when the color sinks in a bit and the gloss fades away. Anyways, I want to hear your thoughts on this!

Coral lips have been trending for a while now, but I’m still on the hunt for the perfect shade. I remember picking out my first red lipstick and feeling rather apprehensive, but eventually I came around and I now have a better idea of what suits me. I’d like to branch out from red and I think that coral is a great choice for summer. I love how vibrant coral lips look on other people, but of course you have to pick the shade that suits you best. I think I’m looking for something that leans toward the red spectrum and definitely something deeper in color, rather than lighter. I need your help- let me know if you can think of any coral lip colors that might suit me!
