I love the look of polka-dot jeans- I think they’re so fun! The ones pictured above are your typical denim washes, but polka-dot jeans also come in a variety of fun colors like these mint green ones from Target. For my personal taste, I prefer a darker wash, but I can’t decide if I like bigger or smaller dots better! If you want to try your hand at a DIY version of these, Heather posted a great tutorial on her blog a few weeks ago.

Who doesn’t love a good striped tee?! I have a black-and-white striped tee now that I wear all the time. I think I’ve actually worn it a little too much, it’s starting to look pretty rundown. It’s a new season and it’s time for me to replace my old tee with a fresh new one. I like the idea of having a long sleeve one (like #5) to wear while we’re still dealing with this transitional weather. #1 is pretty classic, but I also love the sporty feel of #4.

This weekend I’m taking a trip to the Poconos with a group of friends and I’m really excited! It’s really only the second time I’ve taken a weekend trip since I moved to NYC more than a year ago and I’m looking forward to getting away for a bit. We’ve rented a house for the weekend and I’m planning to spend the entire time relaxing. I’m envisioning some warm beverages by the fire, rowdy rounds of our favorite board games, and curling up with my current read on the couch.

If you follow me on twitter, you may have heard that last week, my trusty black satchel and everyday work bag broke (le sigh). It’s actually a funny not so funny story: I was walking to work as usual and stopped to wait for a light to change. Then when the walk sign came on and I strode out into the street, my purse chose that exact moment to break, spilling all of the contents of my bag into the street. I had to scramble to shove everything back into my bag and not get hit by a car (I’m being overdramatic- luckily, the walk symbol was still on)!
Basically, I’m on the hunt for a new work bag. I love the look of a structured satchel and I always lean toward black for versatility. However, I also am a fan of the mixed neutrals (brown, black, grey) and think those could be easy to mix and match with different outfits. On the bottom, we have bags that I adore, but are definitely out of my price range. I’m torn!
