Warm Christmas

I made it home on Wednesday evening, after a long day of traveling, and since then I’ve just been chilling in my PJs and spending time with my family. My sister came back on Saturday night, so that means that now all four of us are together again for the first time this year (the last time I was home was Christmas 2013).

I spent most of my childhood in CA and here the temperature is usually a balmy 65 degrees on Christmas day. When Boohoo contacted me about recreating an old Christmas photo, I thought it would be fun to do a more wintry version of the Christmas pictures we usually take. I picked out these warm and cozy sweaters and yesterday there was actually a bit of a chill in the air, so it was the perfect time to wear them.

Tonight’s plan is to try and watch Elf again (last night a few of us fell asleep) and enjoy some of the Christmas toffee that a neighbor gave us. I probably won’t be posting anything this week, so I hope you all have an absolutely wonderful Christmas!

Gift Guide 2014: For Her & For Him

gift guide, this holiday, gift ideas under 75, gifts under 75, affordable gifts, gifts for her, gifts for him, gifts for guys, gifts for men I can’t believe I’m already posting the final gift guide for this season! Today’s guide doesn’t have a theme- I just wanted to round up a few more gifts under $75 for women and men. Maybe I should have renamed this one the J. Crew/J. Crew Factory guide because a lot of these items come from there. If you’re looking for a one-stop shop, I’d recommended either store/site because they have lots of great gift ideas (and good sales too). I hope you enjoyed this year’s gift guides! I’ve bought about half of my gifts so far and I plan to do the rest of my shopping once I get settled at home in CA.

Gift Guide 2014: For the Homebody

gift guide, this holiday, gift ideas under 75, gifts under 75, affordable gifts, gift guide homebody, gifts for the homebody, gifts for stay at home When I’m putting these gift guides together, I’m often thinking of things I would buy or would love to receive as gifts. Today’s guide in particular is absolutely perfect for me. My friends know that I’m a total homebody and I’ll frequently choose a cozy night in by myself over a night out. When I get home, first things first, I get into my comfies, and then I’m usually glued to my laptop or my latest read for the rest of the night. When I’m at home, it’s all about coziness and comfort, which is why I’ve included lots of soft, snuggly picks in today’s round-up. I like to unwind by brewing a cup of tea (or pouring of glass of wine if I need something stronger), lighting a fragrant candle, and getting lost in a book or TV show. If you have any friends that are homebodies, I hope this guide will give you at least one idea!

Gift Guide 2014: For the Home & Kitchen

gift guide, this holiday, gifts for the home, gifts for the kitchen, gifts for the foodie, gifts for the kitchen lover, gifts for the house Sometime over the last few years, getting things for my home or kitchen has become nearly as exciting as getting new clothes or books. It really takes time to turn a house (or apartment) into a home and it’s fun to add your own little personal touches. I like to switch up the decor in my room from time to time and I’m slowly building up my baking tools (next on my list- a donut pan). These are a few fun gift ideas that I think many people would be happy to receive for their home and/or kitchen. I mentioned that I had a bunch of ideas for gift guides, but I think I’m aiming to do about five in total, so there might be a few more combo guides like this one. As usual, everything in this guide is under $75!
