I’ve still got a lot to learn on the video front, but I’ll never get there if I don’t practice, right? I took my camera along with me to the rewardStyle party last weekend and filmed a few clips throughout the afternoon. I’ve put them together in a little vlog and aside from some pretty shaky camera-work, I think it turned out ok. You can watch it below and I’d love to hear what you think in the comments below! If you’re into the YouTube scene, I’d love for you to subscribe to my channel, as I plan to make more video content. Oh, and if you want to see what I wore that day, head back to Monday’s outfit post.
Thank you to rewardStyle for the invitation and the goodies!
Just when we thought summer was gone, it made a surprise comeback this weekend in NYC. On Saturday I was headed to the rewardStyle party at the Empire Hotel and my goal was not to show up looking like a hot and sweaty mess. After the train stalled at Times Square for nearly 20 minutes, I knew I was losing the battle. When big, fat raindrops starting falling right as I got out of the subway, I conceded defeat. At least I could blame my mussed-up appearance on the rain?
I really wasn’t sure what to wear, but I decided to go for loose and easy. Nothing too clingy because that’s not a good feeling when the sweat starts trickling down your back (gross, I know, but true). I was very comfortable in this peplum top that I wore over my mini skirt and my Sole Society sandals were a good choice for adding a little height.
This gorgeous ring was a gift that I received at the party and I put it on immediately. Who can resist a little bit of sparkle? The peachy color on my nails is another one of the Rimmel Salon pro nail polishes that I love so much. I can’t get enough of them.
I filmed a few little clips on Saturday and I’m going to attempt to put them into a vlog, so stay tuned for that!

I know it’s been a month since NYFW but I still have pictures to share! I’d been saving this red dress for the right occasion and I decided that the rewardStyle NYFW party would be the perfect place to wear it.
While I was there, I was reunited with blogger friends Lydia and Meg, who I hadn’t seen since I moved from Connecticut to New York. It was so great to catch up with them at the party! And get this- I also ran into a friend who I hadn’t seen since high school. At first I thought there was no way it could be her, since as far as I knew she was not a fashion blogger, but it turns out she has her own photography business and came to New York as the photographer for B. Jones Style. It was definitely one of those moments where you think, “What a small world!”
Before my roomie and I adopted our kitty Milton, I would say that I was just a cat lady. I thought cats were very cute/adorable, but I wasn’t obsessed. Somehow between then and now, I’ve become a crazy cat lady. Before, I would see something with a cat print on it and I would think, “Oh, that’s so cute!” Now I’m like, “ZOMG! I LOVE IT! I NEED IT RIGHT NOW!” That’s pretty much how I felt about this dress.
I am totally not surprised that this dress is popular in the blogging community (I think I’ve seen at least 3 other outfit posts with this dress). I wore this for my second day of NYFW. I was a little hesitant because I thought it was pretty likely that someone else would also show up in this dress, but in the end I decided to go for it. I love the fit-and-flare shape and it’s such a fun pattern that I don’t mind so much if everyone else has this dress too.
Excuse the mess on top of my head- can you tell it was a little windy?

Tell me: Do you steer clear of clothing that lots of people own or does that not affect your purchasing decisions?
