On cool spring days I love to pull out my maxi skirts and dresses. It’s perfect because I can keep my legs covered and warmish without enclosing them in pants. By the time spring/summer rolls around I’m tired of wearing pants all winter long and I just want my legs to be free!
I had to look back in my archive to figure out where I bought this skirt (see how useful it is to have a blog? haha). Turns out I thrifted it a couple years ago and I’m betting I paid $10 or less because I don’t like to spend more than that on a single item at a thrift store. This skirt has got to be one of my favorite thrift finds because it’s 100% silk and I can only imagine how expensive that would be if I bought it new today!
What do you guys have planned this weekend? I’m hoping to finally see Gatsby tonight and my roomie and I might also go on a little excursion to Ikea!

I’m wearing a lot of easy, comfortable pieces in this outfit that are definitely favorites in my closet. I love my striped StyleMint tee and I wish I had bought in red too before it was sold out. This trenchcoat has served me very well over the last few years and it’s perfect to throw on when it only seems like it’s warm outside.
On Saturday, the sun was shining brightly and the temperature was 65 degrees, so my roommie suggested we go outside and enjoy the weather for a bit. When we were sitting directly in the sunlight, it felt amazing, but then the clouds would cover the sun or there would be a strong gust of wind and I’d be freezing! It was very hot and cold (haha). I did end up staying out for a little while with my current book, The Great Gatsby. It’s sort of like I’m enjoying the story for the first time, since it’s been ages since I last read it, although some of the details d0 feel familiar when I read them again.

A gloriously sunny day like this one makes me so happy. After meeting up with Alex and Hope near Chelsea Market, we looked for a location to take outfit pictures. When bloggers get together, we can’t help but be a little silly, so we tried all sorts of poses- including me swinging from a fence and Alex leaning into a tree!

Thank goodness the weather is finally starting to warm up, but it doesn’t feel like we’re 100% there yet! These pictures were taken a couple of weeks ago when it was still cool enough to require a winter coat and even now I’m not sure that I can put away my winter coat for good.
I love this polka dot skirt that I picked up on sale from Forever 21 a few months ago. It reminds me of the skirt in the outfit on the left from this post, a look I still want to try to recreate. The sweater I’m wearing used to be really slouchy and just a bit oversized, which I loved, but sadly I washed it and put it in the dryer and it shrunk a lot. Oh well, I’ll just have to figure out new ways to wear it!
Did you guys have a good weekend? Mine was pretty great- on Saturday I went to brunch at Le Paris Bistrot with a group of friends and afterwards we headed to the Met to check out the new Impressionism, Fashion and Modernity exhibit. The exhibit was great- the Impressionist era is one of my favorite periods of art and it was so interesting to see the fashions of that same time period juxtaposed with the paintings. I don’t make it uptown to the Met nearly often enough, but every time I do I remember how much I enjoy going to the museum.

Fashion bloggers- we won’t let a little rain stop us from taking pictures (we’re crazy, I know)! I met up with Chris, Alex and Francy before a beauty event a few weeks ago. We had some time to kill, so we spent it at Sephora, trying on various makeup products. That’s when I bought the NARS lip pencil that I love so much and am wearing in this post!
Do you guys have a good weekend? For those who celebrate, did you have any fun Easter plans? I didn’t do anything too special this weekend, but I did get a chance to briefly see a friend who was visiting from out of town and I finished the Grace memoir!
