I’ve mentioned it in this post and this one, but it’s time I dedicated a whole post to my current favorite lipstick. This is my first NARS purchase. When these lipsticks came out last fall, I was hearing a lot of buzz on beauty blogs and from beauty youtubers. I was curious, but I wasn’t really planning to buy one because at $32 a pop, they’re a bit pricy.

When my sister came to visit a few months ago, we were at Sephora and I was searching for a new fall lip color. I was swatching a bunch of colors and on a whim I decided to try one of the NARS Audacious lipsticks. Big mistake. Suddenly all of the other lip products I’d tried that day paled in comparison. I was immediately drawn to this darker shade and when I actually tested it on my lips, I was hooked. I hesitated for a bit, but in the end I knew I couldn’t leave the store without it.

If you’ve heard anything about these lipsticks, you’ve probably heard that they’re so creamy and so pigmented, and it’s true. They’re easy to apply, feel great on the lips, and have a very smooth, satin finish. If I want more of a stain on my lips, then I’ll just dab a bit of the lipstick on and rub my lips together, or I’ll go for the full color and use it straight from the tube. I’ve found that it wears really nicely too- no awkward lipstick ring around the edges of your mouth.

There are so many gorgeous colors (in total, there are 40 different shades) and if I wasn’t working on my resolution of spending less, I’d snatch up another one of these lipsticks right away. For now they’ll just have to remain at the top of my wish list and in particular I’m eyeing the colors Vera and Carmen.

Tell me: Have you tried these lipsticks?

Beauty Fave- Formula X Wham!

Few things make a nail polish addict more excited than adding a completely new polish to her collection. The lovely Alex gave me this nail polish for my birthday and my first thought was that I didn’t own any other polish like it. Then I used it for the first time and it was true love.

This is such an interesting glitter polish. There are tiny specks of glitter, larger hexagonal bits, and strips of glitter. The combination of all these different shapes and sizes makes it so eye-catching. I knew that I had to write about this nail polish because I’ve used it the last three times I painted my nails. I’ve layered it over a navy polish, then on top of gold, and finally on top of this red. This last combination was for a holiday party that I went to on Saturday and I thought it was very festive indeed. I love this nail polish so much that I’m even going to take it with me when I fly home! I can’t wait to try it with even more different color combinations.

Tell me: How do you feel about glitter polish? Yay? Nay?

A few weeks ago, I noticed a small display of Rimmel’s Salon Pro nail polish at my local CVS. Previously, I owned one other Rimmel nail polish which I loved because of the brush and smooth formula. In discovering this line, my love for Rimmel polishes has only grown. The brush is nice and wide, which means you can easily cover each nail with a few swipes. The formula is great as well- not too watery and not too thick.

Best of all, the colors are downright awesome. There isn’t a huge color range, but looking at the ones available in my store, it’s one of the rare occasions where I want to buy every single color in the collection. I don’t have the complete set yet, but I started off with one, then bought two more colors, then another two, and I’m sure that’s not the end of the line. With my current nail polish routine (stay tuned for a new video on that tomorrow!), I’ve found that this polish lasts a good five to seven days on my nails with no chips or only minimal tip wear. And before I forget, these ring up at $3.19, which is pretty decent in my book!

Tell me: Have you tried any of the Rimmel Salon Pro nail polishes before?

P.S. Today I’m also over on Kim’s blog, I Have a Degree In This, talking about my summer beauty faves. Find out which three products I’m loving at the moment!

Beauty Fave: Soap & Glory Hand Food

I always put on lotion after I shower and I always have a little tube of hand cream in my purse. I’ve tried several different kinds and some of there were ok. A couple of weeks ago I ran out of hand lotion. I stopped by Sephora after work because I wanted to pick up a gift card and figured while I was there I would grab a new tube of hand cream too. At first, I picked up a little L’Occitane tube and made my way to checkout. However, while I was waiting in a rather long line, I spotted this bright pink tube- the Soap & Glory Hand Food. I ended up putting the L’Occitane tube aside and buying this instead. With this one you get more product for half the price, so I was willing to give it a try. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and I’m loving it. I really do not like when lotions leave my hands feeling greasy or sticky and this one moisturizes my skin without either of those icky feelings. The scent is delightful too- to me it’s clean and definitely not overpowering.

Tell me: Do you use hand lotion? If so, what’s your favorite brand?

Also, don’t forget to check back here on Friday! I’ll be debuting a new series on the blog!
