Looking at these pictures reminds me that sadly the days for bare legs are quickly dwindling. These were taken a few months ago, when the weather was still muggy and the leaves hadn’t changed color yet.
I love the pretty pattern and colors on this dress. I feel like summer is the perfect time to go crazy with all the bright colors in your wardrobe. Now that the weather is significantly cooler, I find that I’m drawn back to darker colors like black and navy. In fact, last week I wore three all-black (or nearly all-black) outfits in a row- that’s just what I was in the mood for.
Tell me: Do you wear brighter or darker colors in the fall/winter?
Whoever said that you can’t combine navy and black? I happen to really like these two colors together, as you can tell from this outfit. I’m pretty pleased with this leather-sleeved jacket that I picked up recently. I have a light pink jacket in a similar style that I wear all the time, but I love this darker version also- it seems perfect for fall.
I feel like this jacket leans toward edgy, so I decided to balance it out a bit with some classic stripes and a floaty dress underneath. Also, can you believe that it was under 30 bucks? It’s definitely a steal if you’re on the hunt for new fall outerwear.

I hope you all have a great weekend! If all goes according to plan, I should have a little something to reveal here on Monday. Don’t forget to check back then!
I know it’s been a month since NYFW but I still have pictures to share! I’d been saving this red dress for the right occasion and I decided that the rewardStyle NYFW party would be the perfect place to wear it.
While I was there, I was reunited with blogger friends Lydia and Meg, who I hadn’t seen since I moved from Connecticut to New York. It was so great to catch up with them at the party! And get this- I also ran into a friend who I hadn’t seen since high school. At first I thought there was no way it could be her, since as far as I knew she was not a fashion blogger, but it turns out she has her own photography business and came to New York as the photographer for B. Jones Style. It was definitely one of those moments where you think, “What a small world!”
Does this outfit look familiar? If so, that’s because I lifted it straight from this inspiration picture. Little white dress? Check. (Faux) leather jacket? Check. Pointed-toe pumps that I scored at T.J. Maxx for 5 bucks? Check.
I wore this on my first day of NYFW and it also happens to be the outfit I got snapped in for Essence Magazine’s NYFW Street Style round-up! When I found the picture online, I showed my sister, who told my brother, who told my parents, which lead each of them to call me separately about it. My dad said he didn’t know that I was “internationally famous” (As if! But that’s cute dad, thanks.) and my mom asked me to get as many copies of the magazine as I could (It’s only online mom, but you can send the link to anyone you want!). Sometimes my family really makes me laugh!
More NYFW coverage to come from the shows/presentations I attended last week, so stay tuned! Hope you all have a great weekend!
