Since I’m currently obsessed with Grace Coddington, I can’t help but love this illustration by Katie of Paperfashion. I really do hope she turns it into a print so I can buy it!

I stopped by Old Navy for a little impromptu shopping after work on Tuesday and walked away with this sweatshirt. It was too cute to pass up and I love the sentence on the front- it feels very me. Plus, with a coupon, it was under $16! After writing this post, it only took me six months to add a graphic sweatshirt to my closet!

How sick is this jacket? My roommate doesn’t like it and thinks it’s an odd cross between high school varsity and old lady florals, but I’m totally loving it. Unfortunately, the high price tag means I’ll just be admiring this jacket from afar.

This book has been recommended everywhere recently (on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Flavorwire to name a few) and the story definitely sounds interesting. While I’m waiting for The Fault in Our Stars to become available in the library, I might start this first.

Get the Look BW Striped Tee Get the Look B&W Striped Tees

1 (under $10!) // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 (love the pocket detail!)

Who doesn’t love a good striped tee?! I have a black-and-white striped tee now that I wear all the time. I think I’ve actually worn it a little too much, it’s starting to look pretty rundown. It’s a new season and it’s time for me to replace my old tee with a fresh new one. I like the idea of having a long sleeve one (like #5) to wear while we’re still dealing with this transitional weather. #1 is pretty classic, but I also love the sporty feel of #4.

Tell me: Which style do you prefer?

Sweater- Thrifted // Scarf- Old // Pants- Old Navy // Boots- TJ Maxx via Lydia
(all photos above taken by Alex- thanks lady!)

I think I’ve figured out another reason why I love colored pants so much: when your winter wardrobe consists of some combination of warm sweater + pants + boots like mine does, colored pants are a good way to complete that formula while still mixing it up a bit! It was freezing outside when we took these pictures, but I grudgingly gamely took off my coat so that Alex could quickly capture my outfit. I was frozen and shivering, but Alex is weather-immune and posed without her coat for much longer than I could handle!

How was your weekend? On Friday after work, I went to a preview event for Kensie Jewelry- can’t wait to share my pictures later this week! Then on Saturday, I met up with some members of the Collective for a farewell brunch for Miss Lindsay at Punch. Sadly- she’s moving out of NYC this week, but she promised that she’d come back to visit often! Yesterday, I spent some time working on the blog, including tweaking a few things in the design- what do you think? Also, I love award shows, so of course I was watching/tweeting the Oscars last night too.

Tell me: Did you watch the Oscars? Who were your best-dressed and worst-dressed picks?

DSC 0234 600x426 Purple Pants

Sweater- Forever 21 // Pants- Old Navy // Boots- TJ Maxx via Lydia

If it’s looking like it’s not snowy enough in these pictures, it’s because these are about a month old and were taken when I was home in California visiting my family. I remember when I didn’t own a single pair of colored pants. Then Old Navy had a major sale on their Rockstar Jeans and I had an Old Navy coupon, so I was able to score three pairs of colored pants for about $15 each!

I love colored pants for two reasons: one- they’re fun and two- they’re a great way to switch up your look when it’s freezing degrees outside and your wearing nothing but pants to keep warm. So far I have these purple ones, a mustard-colored pair and also some bright green ones. I still want to add a few more colors to my wardrobe- particularly a cobalt blue and a true red.

Tell me: Would you wear colored pants?
