Yay- I’ve finally had a chance to sit down and start writing my NYFW recaps! I’m still pinching myself that I had the opportunity to attend several fashion shows this season- what an amazing experience! Get ready for lots of NYFW coverage, from events, to blogger lounges, to outfits I wore, to shows that I saw live and even some that I didn’t!
Tee and Necklace- Forever 21 // Sunglasses- H&M // Skirt-Purchased from random street vendor
Flats-Payless // Bag- Lulu’s
First up- the Benefit Cosmetics Primp & Party. Alex and I met up in Soho on the Wednesday before New York Fashion Week started to attend this event. I’ve heard good things about Benefit Cosmetics and I own one of their perfumes, so I was excited to learn more about their products.
Inside we ran into Gloria, Francisca (both members of The Bloggers’ Collective) and Francisca’s sister Anne. While we were waiting for some primping, we were able to sip on delicious cocktails provided by Belvedere. They were seriously so tasty- I should have asked for a recipe!
You could also get a quick touch-up done by one of the professionals at the Benefit store. I didn’t get anything done myself, but I did watch while Anne had her makeup done and appreciated that the makeup artist took the time to explain how to use each of the products she put on.
(all photos above taken by Alex– thanks lady!)
At the end of the night we were given a goodie bag filled with several Benefit beauty products and a cute mini bottle of Belvedere. With our gift bags in tow, Alex and I left the Benefit party and headed to Georgetown Cupcakes on our way back home. It was my first time tasting the much-raved about cupcakes and I thought they were pretty good. They still don’t top my favorites cupcake spots in the city though- Butter Lane, Baked by Melissa and Buttercup Bakeshop!
Thanks to Benefit Cosmetics for a great event and generous gift bag and come back tomorrow to see my first NYFW show write-up!
I love that skirt! What a great find from a street vendor. :)
Thanks Hope! That makes two great items that I’ve bought from some random street vender for $10! :)
that does sound like a really fun event, and i love your pleated skirt!
Thank you Lydia! :)
Beautiful pictures! And esp of you ladies. I love benefit cosmetics. What I really love is all their make-up boxes. I had bought a bunch of eye shadow from their line and they all had quarky sayings on the lid of the boxes so I kept the lids and taped them on my back board of my desk.
PS So happy we finally met!

Yes, I love Benefit’s quirky packaging- it makes me so much more interested to check out what’s underneath. Also, I’m so glad we finally met too! I can’t believe it was just last week- it feels like we’ve been blog friends for longer :)
YESSSSS Buttercup!
And we still need to get to Donut Plant. It better be open this time!
Haven’t been to Buttercup in ages! And I really do like Doughnut Plant, but it’s always closed when I try to go!
I love the bangs you’ve got going on!
Thank you! :)
Aw how fun!
It was- wish you could have gone too! :)
