It’s the most wonderful time of the year! But seriously, the holiday season is always my favorite time. It has everything to do with the decor, the gifts, the feeling in the air, spending time with friends, and getting to see my family! I’m super excited that I’ll be going home to California in less than a month :)
How was your Thanksgiving? I had a great time at my friend’s place in Brooklyn- we made roasted vegetables, potato and leek soup, wild rice, and a berry tart for dessert. And of course we had the other usual suspects- turkey, ham and a delicious cranberry sauce. After dinner I called my family and then pretty much laid on the couch for the rest of the night because I was so full!
Did anyone do any Black Friday shopping? This was the first year in a very long time where I didn’t buy a single thing on Black Friday. It all just felt rather overwhelming, what with pre-Black Friday sales and actual Black Friday sales and Black Friday weekend sales and today, Cyber Monday sales! I certainly wasn’t going to venture out to the stores and I did do a lot of online browsing, but I didn’t actually buy anything this time.
Speaking of shopping, I’m having a hard time figuring out what to get my loved ones this year. I’m getting lots of good ideas from my holiday gift guide series, but none of these yet seem like the perfect gifts for my family.
Tell me: How is your Christmas shopping going?
I can’t stop laughing at this photo! Thanksgiving was great, but the 12-hour roadtrip was not so much. Can’t wait to see you soon!
Haha, it’s pretty cute, isn’t! Phew, that is a long drive- glad you made it back safe :) Same here- will I see you at the Amy O. event?
Yep, I’ll be there!
Yay, see you then! :)
Happy to hear you had a nice thanksgiving. I didn’t do any Black Friday shopping either. I plan on buying most of my gifts at local shops and from Etsy sellers this year.
That’s wonderful! :)
