You guys have already heard me rave on about Julep’s nail polish, but did you know they carry other beauty products as well? I received their Pedi Creme in one of my boxes a few months back and I absolutely love it- it does wonderful things for my feet. Recently, Julep sent me their Glycolic Hand Scrub and Age Defying Hand Brightener to test out. I don’t know about you guys, but my hands get really dry and a bit rough in the winter, so I was happy to try out products that might help keep my hands moisturized and soft.
The scrub and hand brightener are supposed to be used together, at least once daily. For several nights last week, I incorporated these two products into my nightly routine. Right before I went to bed, I washed my hands with the scrub, which has little beads within to help exfoliate the skin. Then I rinsed the scrub off and applied a small dollop of the hand brightener, which is a lightweight cream. And I have to say, after using both products, my hands did feel nice and soft! I’m not exactly sure how long it lasts, but by the time I woke up next day, I feel like I would have needed to reapply these products again. I think if you used these products more consistently that I did, say 2-3 times a day, you would see even better results. I also found the smell to be pleasant- very citrusy and fresh. Overall, I did like the way my hands felt after using both the scrub and hand brightener and I would continue to use them, perhaps trying to do so more often daily.
Tell me: Do you have dry hands in the winter? If so, what do use to combat that?
Disclaimer: These products was provided for me to review by Julep; however, I only recommend products and services that I like and believe that my readers will like as well. All thoughts and opinions in this post are entirely my own.
I love the pedi creme too! I didn’t know about this product, so I’ll have to check it out. I’ve always liked the chapped hands remedy by C.O. Bigelow at BABW: http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2227321
Let me know what you think if you do end up trying the Julep products. And thank you for the recommendation- I will have to give it a try!
I have superrr dry hands in the winter. I’ve been using Philosophy’s hand cream and LUSH’s Lemony Flutter cuticle cream. Sometimes I’ll even just splash my hands with olive oil, ha.
Thanks for the recommendations! I’ve been wanting to try a cuticle cream or oil, so I will have to check out the Lush one.
Glycolic acid is the best! It’s too drying for me to use much in the winter, though. I’ve been doing the olive oil thing, too. I think my skin gets drier every winter :(
Haha, I would never have thought of olive oil but that’s easy enough to test out, since I have plenty at home! :)
I fight the winter dryness with a huge bottle of vaseline coco butter.
That’s what my mom uses too!
