The Taxicab Skirt

Last Tuesday, I met up with some NYC blogger ladies for a happy hour in the East Village, not too far from my apartment. We hadn’t seen each other in a while, so it was really great to catch up and hear how everyone was doing. It also gave me the perfect excuse to wear my new skirt from Sugarlips, which I simply love! When I saw how much my skirt matched the colors of the taxi behind me in that first photo, I knew exactly what to title this post.

We met at Simone, a bar with pretty wild decor and pretty great happy hour specials. After a long day at work, I was so ready for our happy hour to begin. It was great to just kick back, put my feet up (figuratively, not literally) and chit chat with Alex, Jamillah, Kimberlee and Luz.

I wish I could get together with all of you readers for one big great happy hour!  Tell me: What’s been going on in your life lately? Nothing too too exciting for me, although you might have seen me mention on Twitter that I’m starting to hunt for apartments again.  NYC apartment hunting is no joke, so I’m at once terrified and excited.  I’ll be rather sad if I have to leave my current neighborhood because I really love it, but at the same time I want to find a place that will accommodate my roomie and I a little better.

All pictures of me were taken by Alex and you can see even more pictures from our outing in her post here! This last picture was taken by a new blogger friend, Luz– thanks lady!

I really like that skirt! Perfect for a night out. Best of luck with the apartment hunting. I know how stressful that can be.

You look so cute! Love the skirt, and completely adore your flats. Your happy hour meet-up sounds incredibly lovely, I wish I could get to NYC again soon! I completely missed an art exhibit I’d been so wanting to go to; time just seems to slip away. Plus the train fare really adds up, you know? But…someday!

Ugh, I’m pretty sad about it too, but maybe we will end up finding an awesome place that’s still in the East Village! Thanks Jamillah- it’s so nice to have Alex and help take outfit pics for each other :)
