Yes indeed, I am wearing a crop top. I’m a bit surprised myself. It’s something that I’ve wanted to try, but let’s face it- crop tops are not for everyone. However, I really liked this open knit version with a flyaway back when I spotted it online, so I thought I’d give it a go!
To ease into this trend, I thought I would start with one that’s slightly longer than your typical crop top- this one hits me right at the belly button. The flyaway back is what really sold me on this top. I wore a little black bandeau underneath so that you can’t see my bra and paired it with my most comfortable black jeans. I was running out the door and forgot to put on jewelry, but I did get a chance to accessorize with a red lip.
I love the studded detail on these strappy flats. I only wore them for a bit yesterday so I can’t fully comment on how comfortable they are yet, but I’ll probably wear them to work this week and really test them out. If they do turn out to be comfy, then I’ll be happy to check off one box on my summer shoe shopping list.
What did you guys get up to this weekend? It was a good one for me. I had a bit of a movie marathon and watched Blue is the Warmest Color, When Harry Met Sally, and How to Marry a Millionaire. I also went with my friend Liza to a karaoke bar on Saturday night. This was different from my usual karaoke experience. Typically the group I go with gets a private room, but this time it was public and I noticed that a lot of people who sang were really good. You could tell that some of there were regulars and came to show off their skills. I decided to spare everyone the pain of my off-key voice, but I did enjoy watching and observing the other people there.

![BLOODMARKED by Tracy Deonn (@simonteen #gifted) • This was probably my most anticipated release of 2022 and it was amazing! LEGENDBORN catapulted onto my list of all-time favorite books when I read it a couple years ago and now BLOODMARKED is right up there with it.
I loved being back in this world and back with these characters. Bree is such an incredible main character. She can be critical of herself, but she’s also so brave and strong. She lets herself be vulnerable with her close circle of friends. She loves fiercely and she would go to the ends of the earth for the people that she loves. Throughout this book, Bree has so many questions about her powers. When she finally realizes the answer, I was like “Yesssss, girl, yessssss!!!”
I’m so in awe of the fantasy world that Deonn has created. I loved learning more about Bree’s magic in book 2 and it still feels like there’s so much left to discover about the magical workings of this world.
This book was action-packed up and I did not want to put it down! I saved it for my honeymoon so that I could read it in longer chunks. I’m so glad I did that because I feel like it really allowed me to immerse myself in the world as I was reading.
I enjoyed this book so much, from the character growth, to the battle scenes, to the themes of self-discovery and finding your path. I can’t wait for more people to read BLOODMARKED! If you haven’t read the LEGENDBORN books yet, what in the world are you waiting for??

Looks like I’ll have to take a trip to American Eagle because I’ve completely worn out my black Jessica Simpson high-rise jeggings. I don’t know how I feel about crop tops…you’re right. They’re not for everyone, but this one really suits you. It’s not flashy and outrageous like so many crop tops are.
I have three pairs of American Eagle jeggings and I find all of them super comfortable. Thank you Emily! The two crop tops that I bought are black and white- figured I’d keep it simple, which is more my style.
You look cute and I’ve been seeing those sandals everywhere! My friend actually just got a pair. I like how glitzy they are. I don’t know if they’d be super comfortable for me though because they aren’t opened-toed.

my weekend was spent eating. haha. Sounds silly doesn’t it? But, we ended up going out for food more than I thought but, it was well enjoyed! =)
I have not yet ventured to the crop top territory. I was thisclose to purchasing one several weeks ago but, then backed out! haha. I want to try it but I’ll have to get that confidence up!

You definitely styled this crop top perfectly! As you may know, I finally had my bets friend’s baby shower and it was so much fun, really enjoyed it, and on Sunday I stayed at home and watched a Masterchef marathon, love that show :)

Haha, yeh karaoke suddenly gets super competitive when it’s not private! I went to rockaoke once and I sang Teenage Dirtbag with a live rock band and it was soo thrilling but incredibly scary!
