Yay, we’ve successfully completed the first month of the Correspondence Club! When I dreamed up this idea, I was so worried that no one would want to participate and that I would be writing letters to myself, but instead, the eight lovely ladies I mentioned above signed up! As little thank you for joining the club, I sent each of the participants a note and set of heart-shaped stickers :) Then the real letter-writing began in earnest and it is so exciting to see how creative everyone has been with their letters!
Carrie, of Petal by Petal sweetly shared her experience with me- here’s what she said:
“I was so excited when a red envelope decorated with zebra-print tape landed in my mailbox! Camille’s creativity showed in the letter, the pretty necklace, and the collage wrapping. What I like best about Correspondence Club is that sitting down to write a letter vs. dashing off an e-mail means I need to slow down — something I need to do more often.”
I agree 100% Carrie! Taking the time to slow down and write a letter demonstrates a thoughtfulness that I certainly appreciate, especially when I’m on the receiving end of the letter :) For me personally, on the day I received my letter from Natasha I was having a not-so-great day, but coming from work and finding the sweet letter and pretty notebook that Natasha sent absolutely brightened my day! A letter is a little thing, but it can certainly make a big difference :) I’m so excited and ready for the March round of letters!
Do you want to join the Correspondence Club for March? You’ve still got time! If you would like to participate in March, please send me your information by the end of the day today (February 29th at 12:00am EST).
What a great idea! I’ve had the idea that I need to slow down and I can see how letter-writing would fit in with that. Will you be doing this every month? Maybe I can join in another time. And hey, it was great to see you at my blog! Thanks for coming to visit.
Thanks Jeanine! Yes, the plan is to do it every month and I’d love for you to join when you’re able :)
I have to agree, even though I am in love with the ease of email, nothing can replace the personal feeling of a heart felt letter.
Thank you for visiting me.
Daphne.

That’s such a lovely idea, snail mail is the best. Whenever I get parcels from friends in America I get so excited!

This is such a great project. Can people overseas in a different country participate?
Thanks Katherine! Absolutely, everyone is welcome to join! :)
This is such a sweet idea!
We don’t have to re-sign up for March, right?
Nope! I just need to know if someone can’t participate :)
I marvel at your awesomeness on a new daily basis. I saw your amazing creation for Courtney on Sartorial Sidelines and nearly DIED. Such a beautiful piece.

Oh wow, thank you! I was so excited when Courtney asked me to make it for her and I’m so glad that she likes it :)
Ahh, I just missed the deadline!! Hopefully I can still get in, pretty please :) I just sent you an email.
This is such a great idea. I am pretty busy this month but if you continue on with it then I will definitely sign up for April!
This is such an awesome idea. Nothing beats opening up your mailbox and finding a beautiful handwritten letter! If you keep this going, I might try to join up next month.
Yes, the plan is to keep going as long as people want to! :)
