Seattle/Vancouver Recommendations?

You know when you’ve been planning a vacation for months, and it seems like it will never happen, then all of a sudden, it’s here? I’ve been thinking about this trip since December (probably even earlier than that) and now it’s finally close!

In a couple of weeks, I’ll be heading home to California. My full itinerary, though, involves LA, San Diego, Seattle, and Vancouver! I’ll be home to visit my family and then we’re taking a family vacation to Seattle and Vancouver. On the way back, I’ll spend a night in LA, then head down to San Diego for my best friend’s wedding.

To say I’m excited is an understatement and I know I’m only going to get more excited as the trip draws nearer. If you’ve been to Seattle or Vancouver and have any recommendations to share, I’d love to hear them. I’ve been planning the bulk of the trip and I’d love to know if there are any must-see sights or must-do activities that I should add to my list. This will be our first visit to both of these cities and I’m so excited to explore somewhere new (and to finally relieve that wanderlust itch for a bit).

Just talking about the trip makes me giddy. Hopefully I’ll have lots of pictures and some videos to share with you guys when we get back! I’m actually thinking about renting a different lens for the trip (have any of you ever rented camera equipment?).

Tell me: Do you have any trips planned for the summer?

I have yet to visit Seattle despite it being only three hours away, but I’ve heard great things about General Porpoise Doughnuts in Capitol Hill. I feel like you might already know about this place though, being a donut lover :) And if you’re feeling adventurous and aren’t afraid of heights, look into the Capilano Suspension Bridge in Vancouver. Have fun!

I did not already have General Porpoise Doughnuts on the list, so thank you very much for the recommendation. You can never visit too many donut shops :) I will also check out the bridge, although I feel like I may be too chicken for that one! Thank you again for the suggestions and I hope you’re well!

That sounds like a very good trip – plus it’s just so nice to be able to get away from life and the everyday for a bit. Wish I had some recommendations for you, but I’ve yet to cross seattle off my list. I’m sure you could ask Cee about Vancouver though!

  3. Granville Island in Vancouver! There’s a great indoor market there! I think you can either walk over a bridge or take a short ferry. I don’t remember how we got there.
