If you know me IRL, you know that I absolutely love the holiday season! I’m really leaning into the holidays this year and starting a little earlier than I normally would because I could use a little extra joy this year.

As y’all know, I’m a big reader, so I thought it would be fun to put together a gift guide for the book lover. Basically, it was an excuse for me to make a little list of bookish gifts I would love to receive! I mean, it might be obvious, but I think the number one gift to give a bibliophile is a book, of course. But, that might be hard if it’s someone like me who already owns a lot of books and you’re not sure what they want! So here’s a few ideas for you:

Books

Ok, so you don’t know which specific book to get them. How about giving them a gift card to a Black-owned bookstore? You could get it from Loyalty Books or any of the other bookstores listed here). Or you could grab a gift card from their local indie. I’m lucky to have access to many indie bookstores in NYC, and I love the Center for Fiction, which is close to me.

Another idea is to get them a book subscription box. I’ve heard great things about the Page 1 book subscription, which will curate books to their taste.

Clothes

I’m a little late to the game when it comes to bookish merch (I just started buying stuff this year), but I’m slowly building up a collection. I recently purchased this sweatshirt from The Stacks Podcast in burgundy (which is an excellent podcast- you should add it to your list if you enjoy bookish podcasts) and it’s so comfy.

I think this bookish Christmas sweatshirt from Inkwell Threads is SO cute and this site also has lots of cute bookish clothes.

Home

I feel like a custom bookshelf illustration would be such a special gift. Or how about an adorable puzzle or beautiful book journal?

I also love this desktop calendar from Obvious State as a fun way to dress up your desk, especially since many of us are working from home for the foreseeable future. I love Obvious State in general and they’ve got all sorts of products, so definitely check out their shop for more ideas!

I have no idea what this candle smells like, but the packaging is on point, and I want it. As mentioned, I am going ham with the holiday decor this year, so I had to get myself this cute book ornament, and I also think it would make a great gift. And then there’s this travel mug that’s both practical and cute.

Stocking Stuffers

I also wanted to include a few fun little gifts, such as this lovely set of bookmarks, these pretty book pins, and this cute iron on patch. I enjoy journaling so I always love getting fun stickers like this one or this bookworm set.

If you’re a book lover like me, what’s on your wish list?
