Day to Night

day to night look, summer day to night look, transition outfit from day to night, cos yellow jacquard dress

I love pieces that are versatile (who doesn’t?!). As I was browsing the web the other day, I spotted this gorgeous yellow jacquard dress from Cos. Cos is a brand I’ve been hearing a lot about lately (they’re a sister company of H&M) and they’ve just recently started shipping to the US. The silhouette of this dress is simple, but the bright color and subtle pattern add some interest.

For a daytime look I’d pair it with a long tassel necklace and strappy metallic sandals. This camel-colored tote would be perfect for running errands and if I were feeling really adventurous, I might top off the look with a straw hat. To transition this to nighttime, you could swap those sandals for a pair of nude heels and leave behind your roomy tote in favor of a small white clutch to carry the essentials. Throw your hair into a bouncy ponytail to better show off your dangly triangle earrings, add a swipe of lipstick, and you’re good to go!

Tell me: Which look is your favorite?

    • Thank you Katrina Sophia! It’s such a pretty dress, isn’t it?!

  • This dress is too perfect. I love loose shift dresses in the summer and the punchy yellow of this one is great.

    • Agreed- I’m a big fan of easy, breezy dresses like this one for summer :)

  • what a great dress! i love both looks but i do love the daytime better! i just have a thing with hats lately! :)

    • I wish hats did not scare me so much because they really add something to the outfit!

  • Loving these looks, especially the strappy sandals. Such a good find!

    • Thank you Angel- and they’re a good price too!

  • I’ve been hearing buzz about Cos. That is a really pretty dress! I prefer the evening look just a little more cause I’m drawn to that cute clutch :)

This is my first time hearing of Cos! I didn’t know H&M had a sister store. I’m going to go look them up online now! Thanks for the info :)

    • My pleasure :) Happy browsing!

  • Love the idea behind the day to night posts! I love finding pieces that I can dress up or dress down and love what you did with this pretty yellow dress.

  • I love both of these! And I love the idea of just changing the accessories to make the switch. Great post!

    • Thanks so much Maru! :)

  • I love both looks but the daytime look is my favorite. I’l definitely check out Cos online. I wanted to find a store when I was in Paris last month but ran out of time.

    • I think the daytime look won overall! Oh, it would have been awesome to shop Cos while you were in Europe- hopefully next time! :)

  • Yes! so perfect, love the night time look, but I love the look with the brim hat too!

    • Thank you Jessica! :)

  • I actually really like the tassel necklace! I have a weird thing about extra long necklaces and I’m always looking for more of them to add to my heinously large collection of jewelry.

    • I find that I wear a lot of long necklaces too- they’re just what I reach for most often!

  • So cute! Ummm, I need those sandals!

    • Me too! So tempted, so tempted…

  • I love the look on the left – metallic footwear is a favourite of mine right now.

    Lovely blog!
