I absolutely love holiday party season. It’s so fun to get dressed up and be merry with friends and family. My go-to holiday party look is simple- a pretty dress + tights + heels + red lips. I’ve had this dress for a few seasons now and it always sees a lot of action during this time of year.
Does it look like it’s freezing in these photos? Because it totally was! About two seconds after I took off my coat I was completely numb and Alex and I started giggling uncontrollably. Mostly because we were both fighting a battle with the wind/snow and clearly losing. Shooting pictures with Alex is always fun. We’re like the post office- rain or snow we keep going!
I’ll be talking more about holiday party attire throughout the rest of this week. Check back on the blog tomorrow to see a few ideas on how to style your hair for a holiday party!

Thank you Jenmarie! Haha, we didn’t quite realize how cold it had gotten because we were out earlier that day and it was much more pleasant!

Thanks Rowena! Although it was totally freezing, I have to admit it was pretty fun! :)
What a classic look! I’m LOVING those ankle boots.. I’ve been coveting a pair of black booties for awhile, finally got around to ordering some the other day. Stay warm!!!
Thanks so much Emily! I’m a huge ankle boot fan- I have at least 3 pairs and I’m looking to add another! Which ones did you buy?
I didn’t expect you to post that last photo… but the first one turned out well. I think we were outside at the worst possible point in the storm :(
Haha, yeah, I think so too! We thought since it was softly snowing earlier it would stay that way! Hehe, I liked that last photo. I thought it captured the scene pretty well- you taking pics and me trying not to blow over!
You’re so brave for for being out in the storm. Velvet looks gorgeous on you! :)
Thank you Angel :)
Very classy! I don’t know if I’d be able to keep a big smile on my face with the weather buffeting me like that–kudos to you.
Thanks Mia! Haha, and sometimes that smile turned into a grimace- my face was so cold I couldn’t really tell what it was doing!
I can relate to your less than fun snow storm photo shoot – what a challenge just to take a few photos!
Love you simple but chic party look, and the necklace is a stunner!
Thank you Lydia! And I feel like you’re always braving all sorts of weather to take photos too :)
I had the exact same challenge shooting my last OOTD :) You look great though!
Thank you Dora!
