One of my many goals this year is to take a trip somewhere, preferably somewhere I have to get to by plane. After finishing my most recent read, Hausfrau by Jill Alexander Essbaum (more on that book later in the month), one European country jumped to the top of my “I Want to Go to There” list. That country is Switerzland! The main character in the book, Anna, is an expat living in Switzerland. When she’s not happy with her life, she takes solace in her surroundings. The way that the city center and the nearby towns are described has me convinced that I’d find Switzerland very charming. Have you ever been?

I’ve never been but seeing all these gorgeous images definitely makes me want to!

How cool would it be to do a blogger trip there or something? A girl can dream! :)
Oh yes, I need to go there for sure!
I hope we both get to go one day!
Beautiful! My cousins actually lived in Geneva for four years, so I was fortunate enough to stay with them a few times. Switzerland is absolutely gorgeous! Especially those alps!
Lucky girl! I’m sure since they lived there they were able to show you lots of places off the beaten path :)
All of these photos show just how beautiful Switzerland is! This country has been on my Must Go There list for quite some time. Hopefully, I will make it there one day.

I agree- it just looks so stunning in all the pictures! I hope we can all visit one day :)
Switzerland is a very interesting country. It’s very unique (in a good way!). Also very expensive :( Although the last time I was there was well before Airbnb so I’m sure there are many more options these days.
I love visiting places with a strong sense of history. I have really only been around Geneva, but I would have loved to get out of the city and explore the countryside.
And also chocolate. The chocolate really is good, and if you go, you must eat as much as you can.
I’d love to plan a European vacay, but money is definitely stopping me! Hopefully I can start saving up for that. Me too- I like visiting places that have been around for hundred of years. It’s just such a hard thing to wrap your head around, but also really awesome. Oh yes, if I did go, chocolate sampling would be at the top of my list!
And now you’re making me want to go! These pictures are stunning!

Passing on the wanderlust! ;)
It looks like a truly beautiful country! I do hope you get there!
Chic on the Cheap
Me too, me too!
I like Switzerland a lot! In 2010 I went to Lucerne, Montreux/Vevey, Interlaken, and Zurich–I think Montreux and Lucerne were my favorites. If you ever go, try to find grocery stores with attached cafeterias! Swiss restaurants are SO expensive for even a mediocre meal, and we only figured out toward the end of our stay that the eating areas in Migros supermarkets were pretty tasty and way cheaper! We also had some good, inexpensive Korean food, but I don’t know how common that is across the country, haha. Other than that, be prepared for language changes across the country (I’d just gotten accustomed to German when we arrived in Montreux and everything was in French), and castles like the Chateau de Chillon are goooorgeous. Also, Montreux is basically worth it just for the statue of Freddy Mercury and the straciatella ice cream.
How cool! Wow, it sounds like you’ve been all over. Thank you for all the useful tips! I’ll definitely come back to this comment if I do end up planning a trip there :)
These are all such gorgeous photos. It makes me want to take a vacation. Too bad I can’t just close my eyes and be there!
Same- I’m still waiting for teleportation to become a thing! ;)
