As I was catching up on blogs earlier this week, I saw this post on Let it Be Beautiful and thought it would be nice to take stock of my life currently.
FEELING: A bit out of sorts. I’m someone who likes to have a routine and stick to it, so I don’t do so well with changes at first. And the last few days have been crappy weather-wise. I guess I’m just ready for Spring to get here with it’s warmer weather and the feeling of a fresh start.
THINKING ABOUT: My spring wardrobe. The unofficial spending ban is lifted and I’m hoping to do a bit of shopping soon. I’ve thought about what I’d like to add (not quite as intensively as I did for the capsule wardrobe, but thanks to that experience, I feel like I have a better idea of what I want) and I’ve got my list. I already took advantage of a J. Crew Factory sale yesterday and have ordered a couple items, but I’m planning to do most of my shopping in person. The temperatures haven’t really warmed up yet, but I’m looking at things that will transition well into spring. Also, a closet clean out needs to happen. Perhaps this weekend?
LISTENING TO: I haven’t seen the movie or read the books, but I’ve gotta say that there are some good songs on The Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack.
WATCHING: I binge-watched House of Cards last weekend, so I’m done with Season 3. I finally caught up with Downton Abbey too. Can I just say that Rose and Atticus are such a cute couple?!
EATING: I recently made this beef and broccoli stir fry and served it with rice noodles and I was so pleased with the way everything turned out. I also tried making donuts for the first time last weekend, which is something I can now check off my list.
READING: Hausfrau by Jill Alexander Essbaum. I’m getting to read this one a bit before it’s released later this month and I’m really liking it so far. It’s about a bored housewife living abroad in Switzerland. On the surface her life seems perfect, but behind the scenes everything is falling apart.
THANKFUL FOR: Friends to celebrate with.
LOVING: This purple nail polish (Lacey Lilac by Sally Hansen). I’ve switched over to my springy colors now!
great update and yes the 50 shades soundtrack is pretty good unlike the movie.

Thanks Rachelle! I hope you’re having a good weekend :)
I’m feeling a bit out of sorts as well. I am still craving some kind of order in my life. I want to get home from work and not just crash and waste the rest of the evening, then wake up at 11 after having fallen asleep on the couch and not be able to fall back asleep…
I’ve never made doughnuts, but I bet they would be so tasty. Doughnuts aren’t really one of my vices, but it would be hard to resist a homemade one.
Chic on the Cheap
I hope you’re able to find some balance and a routine. It’s no fun when you get home from work and don’t have the energy to do anything else.
I wasn’t sure how the donuts would turn out since they’re baked and not fried but these were pretty tasty!
I’m thinking about my spring wardrobe too! I bought two things from the Cinderella Lauren Conrad collection and two new pairs of flats! It finally feels like spring today and it has me very excited!

I need some new flats myself! Me too. I was so excited when I woke up this morning and the sun was shining and all the snow/ice had melted off my windowsill :)
I loved this post! I can’t wait for your wardrobe updates :) Oh, and YES! Rose and Atticus are perfect. They need more screen time for sure.
Thanks so much Jenmarie! The weather is finally getting better, so I’m hoping I can finally shoot some new outfit pics this weekend :)
Ooh making donuts! sounds delish :) Great snapshot into your life :)

The donuts were quite tasty, if I do say so myself ;) Thanks Kat!
I’m waiting to transition my closet too. March is a tricky month since the weather will tease you with 60 degree weather and then the next its freezing. Congrats on the shopping ban lifted – best time! hehe
Haha, thanks! Yes, exactly- like today I thought it would be warmish, but it was actually really windy and chilly! Can’t put the winter coat away quite yet.
