Although it’s now been a whole week since the Fourth of July, I still wanted to share a few snapshots from the holiday with you guys! Last Wednesday, my friend Babe hosted a little gathering on her sweet rooftop deck in Brooklyn. For this celebration, I turned to my Pinterest for inspiration. During the previous week I had pinned this cake recipe found via Glitter Guide and this garland tutorial from House of Earnest. The night before the fourth I got home, put on my apron, and got to work! While I waited for the cakes to bake, I worked on the garland. Originally they’re supposed to be attached to Christmas lights, but since my lights are packed away somewhere, I instead decided to just string together my festive paper cups. Although it was too hot that day to spend a lot of time outside, we still had a grand time grilling hot dogs, eating yummy baked goods, and generally enjoying the day off!
Aw so fun and festive!
Thanks Kim! I had a really great time on the Fourth! :)
How cute! Everything turned out wonderfully, and you look completely adorable. I love a themed 4th of July party! I failed utterly this year, I don’t even think I wore red, white or blue! You’ve inspired me for next year. ;)
Aww, thanks so much Casee! I didn’t really know what I was doing to celebrate, so all of this was pretty last-minute, but I’m glad it worked out :)
What an awesome celebration! That dress is totally perfect and I love the star cake!
Thank you Alex! :) I love the way the star shapes came out, but turns out they weren’t all so tasty! haha
I love your dress!!! Sigh, gosh I really wish I lived in NYC. (-:
Thank you Natasha! :)
